CopyPasta — Text & Code Sharing
I built CopyPasta as a fast, account-free way to share text and code: paste, get a link, choose an expiry, and keep the formatting intact.
What I worked on
CopyPasta is deliberately small. There is no dashboard, no sign-up, and no document model to learn: paste the text, optionally add a title and an expiration, and share the unlisted link that comes back. The text is stored exactly as entered.
The editor supports Markdown-style preview and syntax highlighting for everyday languages — JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, HTML, CSS, shell, Python, SQL, Go, Rust, Java, C, PHP, Ruby, YAML, TOML, Markdown, and diff — with live line, word, and character counts up to 100,000 characters.
I also wrote short guides for the questions that come before a paste: sharing without an account, a paste versus a collaborative document, formatting code and logs, setting an expiry, and what an unlisted link does not protect. That last point is explicit: credentials and private records do not belong in a paste.
What it brings together
- Account-free pastes
- Markdown-style preview
- Syntax highlighting for common languages
- Optional expiry of 1, 7, or 30 days
- Unlisted links
- Guides for safe sharing
