Darmanjo NPWT Devices — ESP32 Wound-Therapy Hardware

Alongside Darmanjo’s platform, I have been designing its NPWT (negative-pressure wound therapy) devices: ESP32-based hardware with pressure sensors and custom electronic boards.

What I worked on

My work with Darmanjo goes beyond its software platform. For some time I have also been designing the clinic’s NPWT devices — the portable negative-pressure wound therapy units patients carry with them during treatment.

The devices are built around the ESP32, pressure sensors, and custom-built electronic boards. My part is the engineering: sensing and controlling pressure reliably, designing the boards around the therapy’s real constraints, and writing the firmware with ESP-IDF.

Medical-adjacent hardware leaves no room for “mostly works”. The design has to stay safe and predictable when a sensor reads unexpectedly or power behaves badly, which is exactly where small, well-understood firmware and careful board design earn their keep.

What it brings together

  • ESP32-based NPWT device design
  • Pressure sensing & control
  • Custom electronic board design
  • ESP-IDF firmware written in C
