Norasys Smart Home Kit — Security & Automation Hardware
For Norasys I created a complete smart-home kit for home security and automation, building everything from scratch myself apart from the communication protocols.
What I worked on
Norasys installs solar, backup power, and smart-home systems in Gilan, and its smart-home kit is my hardware work: a full IoT package for home security and automation. Other than the standard communication protocols, I created everything from scratch — the devices, the boards, and the firmware.
Most nodes in the kit are small and cheap on purpose. nRF24L01 radios carry the wireless traffic, and ATtiny13A or PIC microcontrollers run the sensors and actuators, with MQTT tying the system together at the messaging layer. Choosing the smallest controller that honestly fits the job keeps each node affordable and power-friendly.
Writing the programs myself — rather than assembling off-the-shelf modules — is what lets the kit behave as one system: the same messaging rules, the same failure behaviour, and firmware I can actually maintain and extend when a home needs something new.
What it brings together
- Complete smart-home security & automation kit
- Custom boards and firmware, built from scratch
- nRF24L01 wireless nodes
- ATtiny13A & PIC microcontrollers
- MQTT messaging
